The Orioles franchise escapes the 2017 season with some extra dignity, thanks to a new ranking based entirely on aggregated reviews from the internet.
ReviewTrackers has found Camden Yards is the number one overall Major League Baseball Stadium experience and the top facility in professional baseball after analyzing more than 130,000 reviews posted on Facebook, Google and other sites.
The key was in the keywords. By gleaning phrases like “hot dogs” and “seats” from baseball stadium reviews, ReviewTrackers had enough data to average out and determine which stadiums fans like the most. They narrowed their criteria to four main categories: Food and drink, facility, family friendliness and fan experience.
Camden Yards led all stadiums in the facility category, and scored high enough across the other three sections to edge out Pittsburgh’s PNC Park and San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
“What does Baltimore do well?” the site poses. “A lot of things. For any of the particular facility keywords, it generally ranks in the top ten. In particular, people love the neighborhood (Inner Harbor) and there are a number of positive mentions about the staff.”
The stadium also received plenty of praise for its barbecue – more than 1 percent of all reviews mentioned it, actually. ReviewTrackers offered the insight that it’s all thanks to Boog’s BBQ, which has been around since the former slugger opened his stand with the stadium back in 1992. (For the record, there’s also Tako Korean BBQ and some newer variations incorporating barbecue staples.)
