The local co-owner of the bar and restaurant The Back Yard has opened Franklin’s Market and Mulberry’s Bar in Hollins Market, the historic Baltimore Public Market now under renovation at 26 Arlington Avenue in Southwest Baltimore.

Franklin’s Market will feature “sundries and staples” along with local products from vendors such as Dear Globe Coffee, Trial by Fire Candles, Secret Sauce Co, Mount Vernon Soap Company, Cane Mixers, and Ms. Cook Therapy. Franklin’s will also provide an extensive selection of wine and craft beers available for take out. Learn more about Franklin’s Market on Instagram.

Given the current Baltimore City COVID regulations, Mulberry’s Bar will focus on take out options including more than 36 craft beers, a crush menu, 24 wines, and a seasonal cocktail menu. House-made soups, sandwiches, seasonal specialties and brats will also be available for take out.

Once the city lifts its COVID restrictions, Mulberry’s will offer indoor dining.  More information about Mulberry’s is available on Facebook and on Instagram.

“My partner, Mike Cavanagh, and I are committed to providing for our Hollins Market neighborhood and to enhancing its vitality and the quality of life for residents,” said Lara Sumerson, the co-owner of Franklin’s Market and Mulberry’s Bar. “We look forward to adding more local vendors and continuing to expand our offerings while adapting to the new climate for retail and restaurants created by the pandemic.”

In addition to Franklin’s and Mulberry’s, new merchants at Hollins Market include Hollins Poultry, which opened December 1, and The Dancing Potato, scheduled to open this winter. Long time merchants Eddie’s Lunch, L&R Produce, Lauman’s Meats, Mike’s Breakfast and Lunch, Taste of the Orient and M&T Bank are also now open.
