Amid the outpouring he received from the Southeast Baltimore community after a fire damaged his restaurant and home last week, Chef Sean Guy will have a chance to get back in the kitchen.

Guy, the chef owner of Water For Chocolate, will take over the kitchen at Hot Tomatoes II (2201 Gough St.) on the evening of April 2. All sales and tips will help Guy rebuild the business.

Water for Chocolate, located on E. Lombard St., was damaged in a fire on the morning of March 20. Guy’s dog, who was much-loved in the community, was killed in the incident. Damage was mostly limited to the upper portion of the building where Guy lives. The restaurant itself is reportedly in “fairly good shape.” Guy is currently staying with a friend on Eastern Ave.

OrderUp made a $500 donation to Guy, and a GoFundMe account to help Guy has collected more than $9,000.
