Baltimore is in full summer mode, with festivals galore. Here’s hoping the rain doesn’t crash our party this weekend, with all that’s going on. But even if it does, you know you’ll dry off quickly– and plus, who couldn’t use a little cooling down after this past week?
Up in Hampden, Honfest is the place to be all weekend long. Bring your biggest hair, your cattiest cat-eye glasses, and a big ol’ sense of humor. Enjoy great food, music and entertainment, and true Baltimore style up and down The Avenue.
Down in Greek Town, it’s the St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival, or Greek Fest to regulars. Here you can catch traditional Greek food, music, dancing, and more all weekend long. Organizers are promising “fun for ages 1 to 100.” So bring the whole family.
The Kinetic Sculpture Race will finally ride (and float, and potentially crash) again. On Sunday, don your weirdest and finest, and head down to AVAM and Patterson Park to see the festivities.
Oh, and did we mention the Chesapeake Crab and Beer Festival? It’s pretty much what it sounds like (hallelujah!) and takes place at the Inner Harbor today until 9pm.
If you’d rather take in a feast of culture than crabs, head over to the Creative Alliance today for the annual Folklife Festival, which will have performances, demonstrations, and workshops of traditional folk arts all day long.
