What It Is: Tickets to the 4th Annual Rye’s Up Against Cystic Fibrosis Charitable Gala. The event benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Maryland and will be held next Sunday (March 1st) at B&O American Brasserie. It’s a project of the Baltimore Bartenders Guild, and all of the guild’s members will be on hand mixing their individual Bulleit & Dickel Rye elixirs for you all night long. Local restaurants and caterers such as B&O, Ten Ten, and Dooby’s will also be on hand, of course, with bites to compliment your drinks. Add to that some live jazz and blues, a silent auction, and some local beer by Union Craft Brew, and you’ve got a perfect evening. You know we’re big on giving the gift of an experience or night out. Trust us– though the event is ephemeral, the memory of a great time leaves a long lasting impression. And this is one event that can’t fail. Tickets available online. $65.
Who It’s Perfect For:
Your Whiskey-Drinking Friend With a Heart of Gold: Is this a category of friend? We think so. They love a good, stiff drink. They love having several of them and then regaling everyone around them with (for the most part) charming yarns and war stories. Send them to an event where they can do that surrounded by their tribe and they’ll love you forever.
Colleagues, Co-Workers, Clients: Want to show some appreciation for someone else’s hard work? Or gently encourage a colleague who’s been taking a lot on to actually take a load off for a day? A Sunday evening spent enjoying great food and drinks without a thought as to cost, reservations, or anything else is a great way to do it. Plus, since it’s a charitable benefit, they’ll feel extra laid back, knowing that the gift helped a good cause.
