Craving a bagel and a schmear? Live in Locust Point? You’re in luck!

THB Bagelry & Deli announced the grand opening of its seventh location— its third in Baltimore City — which will be in Locust Point. Scheduled to open Feb. 15, the bagel shop and deli will be located in McHenry’s Row, featuring New York-style bagels, artisan coffee, flavorful omelets, paninis, deli sandwiches, and fresh salads.

“We are proud to open our doors in Locust Point, a neighborhood we have wanted to be a part of since we opened our Canton location in 2009. Many residents make weekly trips to our Canton location and order catering regularly, so this is a natural fit for us to bring the THB experience closer to them,” said Tony Scotto, CEO of THB Bagelry & Deli, in a statement. “We appreciate the unwavering support the community has shown, and we are especially thankful for 28 Walker and the Sapperstein family for the opportunity to join this great neighborhood.”

The new 2700-square-foot space harkens back to the vibrant piazzas of Southern Italy, with bright colors that reflect the essence of the Scotto family’s hometown. THB of Locust Point will include a three-season patio, which will open this spring, and a dedicated pick-up window for pick-up and delivery drivers.

“Being a first generation Southern Italian family, we understand that we’re not necessarily the first people that come to mind when you hear ‘bagel shop.’ But, with our heritage, three things reign supreme: family, love, and sharing passion and energy while lingering over a fresh meal with friends,” reads the THB website.

With the opening of the Locust Point location, THB marks a new collaboration with McCormick, the Maryland-based spice company. The grand opening will feature an Asiago Tamarind Bagel for a limited time, blending THB’s Asiago Bagel with McCormick’s 2024 Flavor of the Year, Tamarind and Pasilla Chile seasoning.

The grand opening celebration will continue for an entire month, as THB of Locust Point will offer free coffee to guests all day Monday through Friday for guests who have purchased a THB-branded mug until March 15.

For 10 other lucky guests who attend the ribbon cutting ceremony, if they are in line before 10 a.m., they may be randomly selected to win Free Bagels for One Year (52 bagels with cream cheese). Winners must download and use the myTHB Rewards app to accept that prize.

THB opened in 1999 as Towson Hot Bagels. It has grown to include locations in Canton, Charles Village, Owings Mills, Columbia, and Timonium. The Scottos took ownership of the chain in 2008. THB has won awards for “Baltimore’s Best Bagels” for 14 years, and the Baltimore Jewish Times’ 2023 Reader’s Poll for Best Bagel.
