Ladew Gardens is always a great place to spend some time. It’s by far one of the region’s most spectacular green spaces. The gorgeous grounds are renowned around the world for their amazing topiary scenes. But locals know that attending one of Ladew’s many events makes a visit even more special. This Father’s Day, take dad down to the garden’s Groovin’ in the Grass concert series. It’s a great way to spend some time outside, soaking up the warm evening air, and some of the great live music that Dad loves. This Sunday, Ladew presents the much beloved band the Crawdaddies. Their music combines some of Louisiana’s Cajun, Zydeco, Blues sounds with North Eastern’s Roots Rock, American, and Ska influences to create a unique style that is all its own. It’s the perfect thing for a laid back but groovin’ Sunday summer night. Later in the season, you can enjoy the tunes of the Trinidad & Tobago Steel Drum Orchestra, the Mutual Fun Band, and more. Tickets are required, but they’re only available at the gate, so no need to purchase in advance. And fabulous food and drinks are available for purchase as well. In other words, a perfect evening you don’t need to plan too much for.
The Crawdaddies play at Ladew Gardens on Sunday, June 21 from 6pm-8pm. For more information about Groovin’ in the Grass, visit www.ladewgardens.com.
