During the Revolutionary War, the warship Hermione carried Marquis da Lafayette to our shores as he made a mercy mission to assist the colonists defeat the British. The replica of Hermione carries all the historic splendor and goodwill between nations, even if Lafayette is no longer onboard.
From June 19-12, the replica ship will be docked next to the U.S.S Constellation in Inner Harbor. Reenactors were already singing sea shanties on Friday, so they must be in a festive mood. The ship is open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
