Holiday Patrol: Man Falls Asleep at the Wheel, Awoken by Police Search

aacountyAn Annapolis man had the many guns in his car confiscated after falling asleep at the wheel on Tuesday, police said.

About 5 p.m., a driver alerted Anne Arundel County police that a 28-year-old Brandon Smith passed out in the driver’s seat of his car on Jennifer Road. Officers from the department’s Holiday Patrol arrived, and found that Smith was asleep at the wheel.

After some prodding, Smith woke up. Realizing that he was on the road, he then drove 30 feet, but stopped again. The officers searched Smith, and found two loaded guns in his waistband and left back pocket. They also found two loaded guns in the car. None of the guns were¬†registered, and Smith didn’t have a permit.
