A bizarre but serious home intrusion occurred in Takoma Park on New Year’s Day. Police are withholding several details, but what we do know is this: in the early afternoon on Wednesday, someone began banging very loudly on the front door of a Takoma Park home with a man and a seven-months-pregnant woman inside.
When the ruckus went unanswered, a woman entered the home from the rear by pushing in an air-conditioning unit and attacked the pregnant woman with a broken tiki torch and stabbed the man with an unnamed “sharp object” before fleeing in a taxi.
The woman was treated at the scene but the man was taken to the hospital with “serious” wounds that he is expected to survive.
On the off chance that any of this rings a bell, you can call in a tip to the Takoma Park police at 301-270-1100.
