Bring on the sauerkraut, the mac and cheese, the pumpkin pie โ€“ Thanksgiving week has arrived in Baltimore. But thereโ€™s more than turkey on local restaurantsโ€™ minds this week โ€“ hereโ€™s a look at whatโ€™s happening:

Openings & announcements

On Nov. 15, Snake Hill celebrated ten years in business. Thatโ€™s a lot of sausages โ€“ and a lot of good times. Congratulations to the Snake Hill team!

The Bluebird Cocktail Room has updated hours for the winter, including a reopening of The Pubโ€™s space on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Motte also has updated hours for the season โ€“ the restaurant will no longer be serving Friday lunch (but is still open for lunch on Saturdays).

Fall flavors at Clavel

Clavel has launched its winter menus โ€“ both food and cocktails โ€“ featuring bone-warming dishes like slow-cooked soups and hot tea drinks.

Wine tasting at Silver Queen

On Wednesday evening, Silver Queen Cafรฉ is hosting a free Thanksgiving wine tasting with the crew from Southern Glazers. Options to sample include two reds, a white, a rose, and a sparkling โ€“ and all are available for purchase to drink with dinner or take home.

Thanksgiving plans

Thanksgiving is next Thursday, so if your plans arenโ€™t finalized yet, itโ€™s time.

Blacksauce Kitchenโ€™s Thanksgiving catering menu includes everything from mac and cheese and biscuits to roast duck pie. Orders close at midnight on Nov. 21.

Ethelโ€™s Creole Kitchenโ€™s take home menu features Louisiana-meets-Maryland options like crab mac and cheese, black-eyed peas, and andouille sausage cornbread stuffing.

Yard House is open on Thanksgiving day โ€“ with football on TV โ€“ and has a special Thanksgiving Day plate available for dine0in guests.

Dylanโ€™s Oyster Cellar has gorgeous oysters from Valliant Oysters available to order to pick up and take home the day before Thanksgiving.

Rye Street Tavern is offering pre-Thanksgiving carryout (order by Nov. 21) and will be open on Thanksgiving Day.

Waiting to Oxtail’s holiday catering menu โ€“ for both Thanksgiving and December holidays โ€“ includes dishes like curried collard greens and jerk chicken mac and cheese. Thanksgiving orders must be placed by Monday, Nov. 24.

Peerceโ€™s and Ananda are both open for Thanksgiving โ€“ with an Indian twist.

Marta will offer its full menu plus Thanksgiving specials for the holiday.

Estiatorio Plaka has a full Thanksgiving meal for 12 (to take home) for $199.

Post-Thanksgiving

After the leftovers have been safely stowed in the fridge, itโ€™s time to shift gears into Santa season. On Friday, local restaurants will be ready for it.

At Johnnyโ€™s, the holiday cocktail menu is already up and running, with options like The Grinch, made with Baltimore Spirits Company Skeleton Gin, melon, peppermint, lime and Faccio Brutto.

Amperseaโ€™s annual Winter Wonderland kicks off on Friday and will be in place through Jan. 18.

Of Love & Regret is celebrating Black Friday with an all day happy hour and all day bottomless brunch.

But donโ€™t worry โ€“ if youโ€™re not quite ready to move past Thanksgiving just yet, Woodberry Kitchen has the perfect drink: a spiced pumpkin old fashioned with housemade pumpkin syrup.
