41632662 - oysters on the grill

We have got a big week ahead of us. Every day this week, there’s at least one excellent opportunity to eat and drink something special at a Baltimore restaurant. Here’s a look at all the fun headed our way:

Openings & announcements

Liv’s Tavern, which has taken over the iconic Mother’s space in Federal Hill, is now open – and will celebrate its official grand opening on Sept. 26.

Congratulations to The Wren for being named to the New York Times’ 50 Best Restaurants list.

There are developments in the works at Hotel Revival, where karaoke rooms are available for reservation, including for larger groups, and have moved out of B-Side, which is shifting to become a more cocktail-driven spot.

Sadly, Teavolve, which has been open in Harbor East for nearly two decades, is closing on Sept. 19.

Fells Point activity

The Fells Point Farmers Market is relocating this weekend – just for the weekend, while the Fells Point Oyster Fest takes over Broadway Square. You can find the farmers market at Central Plaza in Harbor Point on Saturday morning.

And speaking of the Oyster Fest, it starts on Friday and runs through the weekend – check it out for live music, crafts, food, drinks, and oysters, of course.

Fiesta Bicicleta at Woodberry

On Saturday, Woodberry Kitchen hosts a watch party for Vuelta a Espana, complete with Spanish ciders, vermouth, and Spanish-inspired food including gazpacho and patatas bravas. The event also includes cycling-friendly exhibitors, like Jules O’Quinn Bike Jewelry, and family-friendly games.

Opera at Cinghiale

Cinghiale kicks off a new monthly Sunday opera series on Sept. 14, with a live performance in the restaurant’s Galleria. The event includes a prix fixe menu including seasonal dishes like local corn bisque with peach and roasted corn gremolata, and grilled Mediterranean branzino with artichokes, yellow tomato confit, capers and lemon butter sauce.

Oyster shells at True Chesapeake

True Chesapeake’s monthly oyster shell crafting party is this Sunday. The free event, which includes oyster shell painting, among other things, is open to all ages – and a great way to make brunch more fun.

Monday at Alma

On Monday night, Alma Cocina Latina is opening at 6 p.m. for a bar pop-up to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month.

Winemaker happy hour at Marta

On Tuesday, Marta Fine Food & Spirits welcomes Caterina Sartarelli of Sartarelli Family Winery for a special happy hour featuring Sartarelli wines alongside specially-created small plates.

Ecuador at Clavel

On Wednesday evening, Chef Paula Endara will join the kitchen at Clavel for a pop-up, creating a special menu of Ecuadorian food and drink.

Catoctin Creek cocktail dinner at Costiera

Also on Wednedsay, Costiera and Catoctin Creek are partnering for a five-course dinner with paired whiskey cocktails (plus complimentary whiskey samples). The meal includes pairings like pork and foie gras terrine with figs, vincotto and crostini matched with a Roundstone Rye drink.

Black Ankle wine dinner at Foraged

On Thursday evening, Black Ankle Vineyards and Foraged Eatery partner for a three-course meal showcasing seasonal flavors and the Mt. Airy vineyard’s wines. The dinner takes place at Black Ankle.

Tequila at Union Hill

Also on Thursday, Union Hill offers a five-course meal paired with tequila cocktails and a tasting of Casa Noble and Mi Campo tequilas.

Beef & Beer at Roseda

On Friday evening, Roseda Farm hosts Beef & Beer – a night of live music, with beers from Farmacy Brewing, oysters from Ryleigh’s Oyster, and pit beef, burgers, hot dogs and more. Plus, pony rides and face painting for the kids.

Dine United

Several Baltimore restaurants are teaming up with the United Way this fall, in honor of its 100th anniversary, by donating a portion of proceeds from certain menu items to the organization from now through Oct. 18.

The Food Market’s crew has created a new Centennial Jubilee cocktail for the occasion; the drink is available at both Food Market locations, as well as at La Food Marketa.

At Cosima, $1 of every Arancina cocktail purchased will be donated.

Gunther & Co. will donate $1 from each order of steak frites to the cause.

Fall Camp at Sotto Sopra

Sotto Sopra is running ‘Fall Camp’ – seasonal specials from now through the end of November. The first one announced is a branzino dish that will be available on Wednesdays.
