There will be a lot of candy eaten in Baltimore this week – but local restaurants have more than tricks and treats planned. Here’s a look at what’s coming up, from wine dinners to oyster-centric parties:
Openings & announcements
Lib’s Grill is expanding to Towson, with a new location in the works at 210 W. Pennsylvania Ave.
Kneads’ Canton location now has its bar service up and running. To celebrate this week, the spot has been offering $4 martinis and BOGO mimosas – those deals end on Halloween.
Geno’s Steaks is coming to Baltimore. The iconic Philly cheesesteak spot is opening in Power Plant Live! in 2026.
Charm Thai Corner will take over the York Road space formerly occupied by Nana.
The Capital Grille has recently launched a weekday happy hour, featuring a number of dishes designed for sharing along with drink specials like $8 glasses of wine and $10 cocktails.
Halloweekend
This weekend is a big one in Baltimore (and everywhere else), filled with tricks, treats, and lots of costumes.
Many local spots have spooky specials on tap this weekend, plus some fun activities, like the Friday evening showing of A Quiet Place on the lawn at Guinness Baltimore, “Scaryoke” at Max’s Taphouse, and restaurant trick-or-treating everywhere from Sally O’s to The Duchess (and plenty of other spots in between).
Clavel has something a little different happening on Halloween – a special menu inspired by Taco Bell. Think Crunchwrap Supreme, Mexican Pizzas, and Baja Blasts.
Día de los Muertos
From Friday through Sunday, La Calle will offer a menu specially designed for Day of the Dead celebrations.
The holiday will also be special at Maximón, where there will be food and drink specials plus live entertainment.
At Sally O’s, the night will be marked with a mezcal dinner featuring three courses and paired cocktails.
Ryleigh’s Oysterfest
On Nov. 1 and 2, Ryleigh’s celebrates its 18th annual Oysterfest, featuring live music, pit beef in an oversized beer garden, and tons of oysters.
Whiskey at The Manor Tavern
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, The Manor Tavern and McClintock Distilling Co. are teaming up for a whiskey tasting and discussion about the history of Maryland whiskies. The event includes a tasting of multiple Maryland whiskies plus paired appetizers.
Woodberry wine dinner
Woodberry Kitchen, which celebrated its 18th anniversary (!) on Oct. 29, welcomes food scholar Bernie Herman and the winemaker from Virginia’s Chatham Vineyards for a discussion and multicourse wine dinner showcasing the culinary traditions and foodways of the Virginia Eastern Shore.
Old Westminster turns 10
Old Westminster Winery is celebrating a decade in business on Friday, Nov. 7, with a ticketed experience in the Tasting Room. The evening includes hors d’oeuvres followed by a seated four-course meal, with wine pairings.
The meal is a collaboration between Old Westminster chef Tae Strain and some of his most talented colleagues in the area, including teams from Clavel, Cookhouse, and Foraged.
Culinary Concepts
On Nov. 7, Ink + Numbers presents Culinary Concepts, an evening of great food and cocktails benefiting local nonprofit, the Starboard Society. The party takes place at Second Chance’s Concept House in Towson and features food and drink from multiple local partners, including Autosnax, Aveley Farms, Cake by Jason Hisley, Classic Catering, Copper Kitchen, Diamondback Brewing, and Guilford Hall Brewery.
Pay It Forward at Silver Queen Café
Silver Queen Café has new program in place to support furloughed government employees. Furloughed employees are invited to the restaurant for a burger, black bean burger, or chicken sandwich (with furlough notice or government ID). Those who want to support this initiative can go online and purchase a $20 meal.
The restaurant is also collecting food for HARBEL Community Center on Harford Road – and if you donate, the restaurant will buy you a beer (or non-alcoholic drink) as a thank you.
