Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverages Weeks begin Monday and run through Aug. 9.
“Our Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverage Weeks is not only a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent, creativity, and hospitality of our local chefs, brewers, distillers, wineries, and beverage artisans, but it also affords us the opportunity to support our neighborhood businesses, strengthen our local economy, create jobs, and celebrate the diverse flavors that bring our community together,” Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said in a statement.
Forty-three Howard County restaurants will be participating in the two-week event with special menus and deals.
One of those eateries is River House on Main, a pizza bistro that had its soft opening earlier this month. The restaurant moved into the Old Ellicott City space that was previously home to Tersiguel’s, which closed after 50 years in December.
Nathan Sowers, chef at River House on Main, said they are excited to see both new and familiar faces during the county’s event.
“We’re thrilled to participate in Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverage Weeks as we celebrate returning home to Historic Ellicott City with River House on Main, the new River House Pizza Co. Pizzeria Bistro concept,” Sowers said in a statement. “Restaurant Weeks are a great opportunity to experience our expanded menu featuring handcrafted pizzas, French and Italian-inspired bistro cuisine, and weekend brunch in one of Ellicott City’s beautifully restored historic buildings. We look forward to welcoming both longtime River House Pizza Co. guests and first-time visitors.”
Additionally, Local HoCo Open Rewards app participants who dine at these establishments will earn 10% cash back instead of the normal 5%. New Open Rewards subscribers will also receive a $5 reward for signing up during Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverages Weeks.
“Open Rewards builds on the Local HoCo campaign by creating a simple, accessible way for residents and visitors to support locally owned businesses across Howard County,” said Amanda Hof, executive director of Visit Howard County, in a statement. “Running the program alongside Summer Restaurant and Craft Beverage Weeks continues our commitment to supporting the long-term vitality of our local business community.”
App participants can earn rewards throughout the year when they make purchases at local businesses that are members of Visit Howard County, Old Ellicott City, and are registered with Howard County Economic Development Authority. Customers can identify participating businesses by looking for the Local HoCo seal.
