Capital News Service — With Maryland voters poised to decide in November on whether recreational cannabis will be legal in the state, Capital News Service, in a two-part series, takes a “farm-to-table” look at the state’s already legal medical cannabis industry. We look at two companies:
SunMed Growers in Warwick is one of 37 growers and processors in the state that supply a finished product to Maryland cannabis dispensaries.
Goldleaf is a medical cannabis dispensary in Annapolis. Its entryway looks like the cross between a jewelry store and a upscale hotel lobby. “Budtenders” treat patients for a variety of symptoms, including insomnia, PTSD, anxiety, eating disorder and pain relief.

SunMed Growers in Warwick, less than 10 miles from the Delaware border, is one of 37 growers and processors in the state that supply a finished product to Maryland cannabis dispensaries. The company is expanding its facility to keep up with demand.
