Simply Noted

After a two-year hiatus, stationery and gift boutique Simply Noted, a past winner of the coveted Best of Baltimore title, has re-opened at Ruxton Station.

Simply Noted had a successful seven-year run at Belvedere Square until owner, Melissa Taylor, decided to close the shop in 2010.  Late last year, however, she received an offer she couldn’t refuse: The landlord of Ruxton Station approached her with the idea to re-open in the space vacated by Jewels, which moved across the street.  The idea became a reality after discussing the opportunity with Louise Wright, a seasoned retailer, and the two soon came to realize they could take this on together.

Louise brings quite a resume to the partnership with extensive retail experience including positions with Saks Fifth Avenue and Anne Klein and, most recently, the locally-owned Ruth Shaw in the Village of Cross Keys.

“I’m thrilled to bring Simply Noted back to the Baltimore community.  Having Louise as a partner will be such a welcome respite on so many levels, not the least of which is to have another creative eye to keep our service and product top of the line for our customers,” says Melissa Taylor.

The duo has stocked the boutique with a notable stationery collection including The Boatman Group, Luscious Verde Cards, Kramer Drive, Dabney Lee, Kate Spade and Page Stationery.  The focus will be on custom invitations for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings and other special occasions as well as in-house printing for smaller print requests.

The shop will also feature an array of stylish products from everyday to exquisite tabletop, hostess gifts, sweet goodies for the new baby and pets, specialty personalized items such as address stampers, notepads and notecards by national favorites including Jonathan Adler, Kate Spade, Toss Designs and more.  In addition to the national lines, Simply Noted plans to continue its support of local artisans and will showcase local lines currently including Gilah Press and Maggie Stewart Designs.

Hours of Operation: Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm

Simply Noted plans to celebrate their grand opening Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 with special offers, champagne and more.
