On Tuesday, Under Armour announced plans to basically build a brand new hip neighborhood around its brand new headquarters in South Baltimore. And now Hopkins is announcing its plans to open a big new neighborhood medical center in Remington. So should we just go ahead and change the name of Baltimore to HopkinsArmourstan already?
Johns Hopkins Community Physicians will move from its current, vaguely dingy location on Wyman Park Drive to the 2700 block of Remington Avenue, where it will become the anchor tenant of the new Remington Row project, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.
โI view this project as being the Can Company and Tide Point of Remington, in that it will have that kind of impact on the community,โ Andy Frank, an economic development advisor to Johns Hopkins President Ronald J. Daniels, told the BBJ. Itโs also another example of Hopkins extending its tentaclesโin a benevolent way! we think!โacross the city. Construction is slated to begin on the project later this month.

Dear Hopkins People: Have you ever heard of Greenmount Avenue? We are not hard to find. Your shuttle & bus drivers propel their vehicles at high rates of speed right past us many, many times daily. Slow down, stay a while, experience the humanity of us. Thanks, Timothy J. Ward
Parking really gonna be worse around here than it already is…I hope everything works out
there will be underground parking for the tenants as well as JHCP patients
