Now that “Multiple Maniacs” has been released in Blu-Ray format, another John Waters movie is about to hit the shelves.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, “Serial Mom” is coming out in a Blu-Ray collector’s edition on May 9.

Known as “Serial Mother” in Great Britain, Waters’ 1994 film tells the story of Beverly (played by Kathleen Turner), a homemaker right out of Good Housekeeping, who is a mass murderer on the side.

The cast includes Sam Waterston, Ricki Lake, Mink Stole, Suzanne Somers, Traci Lords and Patty Hearst. The Blu-Ray version is being released by Shout Factory with a list price of $34.93.

Bonus features include: “A Conversation With Director John Waters, Actress Kathleen Turner And Actress Mink Stole”; “Serial Mom: Surreal Moments,” with interviews with Waters, cast members, the casting director and the production designer; “The Making Of Serial Mom”; and the original theatrical trailer.

It all adds up to a cautionary tale right out of suburban Baltimore. As the official synopsis states, “Every woman wants to be wanted…just not for Murder One!”
