The O’s just matched a record the team set in 46 years ago. That’s a good sign.
With their 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, the Baltimore Orioles have brought their season to five wins, no losses. That matches the team’s best start ever in 1970, a year that culminated in a World Series victory.
Center fielder Adam Jones missed three of those games due to sore ribs. Apparently third baseman Manny Machado has decided to homer once a game until he returns.
Recent acquisition Mark Trumbo hasn’t hit a home run yet, but he’s kept up a .474 batting average.
As Machado put it, the O’s are “playing as a team, getting to know each other, doing the little things.”
Well, keep doing those little things, guys!
