According to WTAE-TV, the gun belonged to a man from Hidden Valley, Pennsylvania, who was not identified by authorities. The .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun was loaded with 8 rounds.
No fancy stealth techniques were involved in the making of this crime, as the X-ray machine detected the gun during the standard security screening. It’s been productive year for BWI’s X-rays and body scanners, as authorities have seized six other guns at the airport’s security checkpoints so far in 2014.
