The items looted from stores during the April riots remained in the cycle of commerce — whether illicit or not. So it’s perhaps inevitable that they would resurface at some point. This week, police recaptured some of the prescription drugs taken from pharmacies, and officials also discovered that stolen lottery tickets were also cashed.
The drugs were put back into authorities’ hands. According to CBS Baltimore, police found pill bottles and other drugs while conducting a search at a West Baltimore home for other reasons. The DEA confirmed that the drugs are believed to be related to the looting.
The lottery tickets may not able to be saved, however. According to the Daily Record, stolen lottery tickets may have been cashed in. However, state officials aren’t able to quantify how many.
