This summer the Mall in Columbia is welcoming four new retailers to its 70,000-square-foot open-air plaza, renovated and expanded in the fall of last year. Women’s clothing stores Anthropologie and Talbots will join Maggiano’s Little Italy and wine and grill bar Seasons 52 in laying down stakes at the Howard County shopping center.
These new openings are the second phase of the renovation at the Mall in Columbia, but they are only the beginning of the city’s three-decade plan to “develop 13 million square feet of retail, commercial, residential, hotel and cultural space.”
The concept behind Maggiano’s is “pre-World War II dinner house.” I might have to check it out just to learn what the heck that means. Seasons 52 is so named because its “seasonally-inspired” menu changes slightly every week and is “overhauled every three months.” It’s also got a low-calorie, butter-free bent. So, I guess I’ll see you at Maggiano’s.
