Readers love and rely on our Weekend Events column to plan fun-filled weekends.
But we also know plenty of exciting activities take place during weekdays (and therefore get left out of Weekend Events) or require more planning than a couple days’ notice allows. That’s why we’re launching a new monthly list of events to compile even more of the wonderful happenings all around the Baltimore region.
Don’t worry, the Weekend Events column isn’t going anywhere; this is just an additional way Baltimore Fishbowl will be letting you know about upcoming events that you won’t want to miss.
Check in with us during the final week of each month for a look ahead at the next month’s goings-on.
Candle Making Workshop, ongoing dates through November, M.I.Y. Candle Co. Enjoy the “Sip & Pour” candle experience in this cozy and relaxed studio in Catonsville. You’ll be provided with all the materials you need to create your own candle (with a variety of scent options available), games during the workshop, and while your candle cures, you can have a complimentary glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage.
Holiday Train Garden, Friday, Nov. 22 to Sunday, Jan. 5, The Shops at Kenilworth. Stop by The Shops at Kenilworth’s lower level during all mall hours to see the annual train garden display.
Inner Harbor Christmas Village, Saturday, Nov. 23, through Tuesday, Dec. 24, West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor. Visit an authentic German-style Christmas market with a combination of outdoor and indoor wooden stalls featuring gift shopping; traditional food, sweets, and drinks; live performances; and more. The village runs through Dec. 24., every Sunday through Thursday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and every Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Stavros Halkias, Friday, Nov. 29, and Saturday, Nov. 30, doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Baltimore native comedian Stavros Halkias is coming home for the holidays — and he’s bringing his stand-up show with him! Originally from Baltimore and now living in Queens, New York, Halkias stars in the newly released doomsday comedy “Let’s Start a Cult.” He also has two comedy specials, “Live at the Lodge Room” and “Fat Rascal.”
Festival of Trees, Friday, Nov. 29 to Sunday, Dec. 1, Maryland State Fairground Cow Palace. Entering its 35th year, the Festival of Trees is a three-day event that showcases hundreds of creatively decorated trees (including Orioles and Raven’s trees!), wreaths, gingerbread houses, and more, which are available for purchase. The event benefits the patients, students and programs at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and kicks off the most wonderful time of the year.
Holly-Days, Friday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 1, Maryland Zoo. Watch Santa and Friends kickoff the winter holiday season with a parade; listen to Ms. Claus tell the story of “Santa’s Lost Reindeer”; get your photo taken with Santa; participate in an Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt; ride a train or carousel; chat with zoo keepers; and more.
Kelly Bell Band & Jah Works, Saturday, Nov. 30, doors open at 6 p.m., Recher Theatre. Bring your crew out for an old-school Thanksgiving weekend party with two legendary Baltimore favorites.
Black Nativity, Saturday, Nov. 30, through Sunday, Dec. 22, Baltimore Center Stage. ArtsCentric will perform Langston Hughes’ “Black Nativity,” which retells how Jesus came into this world, told through the lens of the Black experience. The production will feature original music by composer and music director Cedric D. Lyles.

Keller Williams, Friday, Nov. 1, doors open at 10 p.m., music starts at 11 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Stay up late with Keller Williams, grooving to the sound he has jokingly dubbed “acoustic dance music” or ADM.
Pumpkin Smash, Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to noon, Maryland Science Center. Send your jack-o-lantern tumbling out a chute off the roof of the Maryland Science Center and watch it meet its end on the patio below. Afterwards, the pumpkin remains will be composted by Waste Neutral, so no glitter, paint, or crayon allowed. Pumpkins must also be fewer than 14 inches in diameter to fit through the chute.
Family Fall Festival, Saturday, Nov. 2, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Star Bright Farm. Bring the family out to the farm for food, music, a tour of the farm, and plenty of family-friendly activities, including a straw bale maze, wagon rides, and donkeys. Star Bright Farm’s Barn Market will be fully stocked for seasonal shopping.
Baltimore Craft Beer Festival, Saturday, Nov. 2, noon, Baltimore Peninsula. Enjoy live music, food vendors, and yes, plenty of craft beer! New this year will be the Winners Circle, showcasing the breweries that won gold medals from the Maryland Craft Beer Competition. A panel of judges will taste and score those gold-medal-winning beers before crowning this year’s Best of Show winner.
Chili Cookoff, Saturday, Nov. 2, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Sample chili from an array of competitors and cast your vote to help name the People’s Choice winner. Awards will also be given to Judge’s Choice & Best Theme. Attendees will also be able to meet Baltimore Ravens player Trenton Simpson. The event is a fundraiser for The Baltimore Station and will benefit their work to support homeless veterans.
80s Dance Party with DJ Fun Billy, Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 p.m., Ottobar. DJ Fun Billy promises the perfect mix of 80s favorites like New Order, The Cure, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, and Pet Shot Boys. The best part? No cover!
Pride & Prejudice, runs through Nov. 10, Baltimore Center Stage. Watch Jane Austen’s classic “Pride & Prejudice” be brought to life on stage in this adaptation by Kate Hamill. There will also be high tea events for VIP ticketholders, which includes tea and treats, tickets to the show, a complementary book from Charm City Books with a “Pride & Prejudice” bookmark, and a member of the creative team giving an insider’s introduction to the production.
Maryland Irish Festival, Friday, Nov. 8, through Sunday, Nov. 10, Maryland State Fairgrounds. This is a momentous year for the Maryland Irish Festival as it turns the big 5-0! To celebrate the milestone — and all things Irish — come out to the Timonium fairgrounds for three days of song, dance, bagpiping, drumming, and other performances; ceilis; whiskey tastings; a memorial tea; and more.
Ronny Chieng, Friday, Nov. 8, doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Stand up comedian Ronny Chieng is coming to Baltimore on his The Love To Hate It Tour, but there’s nothing to hate here. Chieng has two Netflix stand-up comedy specials and he is a correspondent for “The Daily Show.” He has also starred in “Crazy Rich Asians,” Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” “M3GAN” and more.
The Eras Party, Friday, Nov. 8, 8 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Le Petite Fete presents The Eras Party, a Taylor Swift-inspired dance party. This all ages event will feature a costume contest, lip sync battle, themed photo areas, bracelet trading, and Taylor tunes from all her eras.
Inner Harbor Winter on the Waterfront Opening Celebration, Nov. 9, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Inner Harbor. The Waterfront Partnership’s ice rink returns to the top of the Amphitheater between the two Harborplace pavilions at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Opening night features hot chocolate, treats and more. Bring the whole family and enjoy the harbor views in the middle of downtown Baltimore. The ice rink will be open through Jan. 20.
Several Species: The Pink Floyd Experience, Saturday, Nov. 9, doors open at 7 p.m., Recher Theatre. Join Pink Floyd tribute band, Several Species, as their 11-piece ensemble recreates the Pink Floyd concert experience at Towson’s Recher Theatre.
Kacey Musgraves, Saturday, Nov. 9, doors open at 6:30 p.m., show begins at 7:30 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Country music star Kacey Musgraves will take the stage in Baltimore as part of her Deeper Well World Tour, named after her sixth studio album, which she released earlier this year. Musgraves is a seven-time Grammy award winner, including four in 2019 when her album “Golden Hour” won Album of the Year.
Punk Rock Flea Market, Sunday, Nov. 10, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Ottobar. Featuring 40+ local vendors, food, boozy drinks, handmade items, and more, Ottobar’s Punk Rock Flea Market promises a unique boutique experience with weirdness guaranteed.
Profs & Pints: Castle Edition, Sunday, Nov. 10, 4 p.m., Guilford Hall Brewery. Victoria McAlister, assistant professor of Digital Environmental Humanities at Towson University, will teach attendees about the design, construction, and use of medieval European castles.
MJ The Musical, Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Sunday, Nov. 17, Hippodrome Theatre. From “Beat It” to “Billie Jean,” “Human Nature” to “Thriller,” hear Michael Jackson’s greatest hits and watch his life story told on stage in this jukebox musical.
Taylor Swift Under the Dome, Friday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Are you made of starlight? Want a way to spend your Friday evening that’s bigger than the whole sky? Listen to Taylor Swift’s music under the dome of the science center’s planetarium as you watch images set to your favorite Taylor tunes.
Spider-Verse in Concert, Friday, Nov. 15, doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Experience the music from “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” played by a full orchestra, a skilled scratch DJ on turntables, and percussion and electronic instrumentalists.
Mr. Trash Wheel’s Dumpster Dive to Support a Maryland Bottle Bill, Saturday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m., Baltimore City ToolBank. Channel your inner Oscar the Grouch to dig, sort, and count through trash collected by the beloved Trash Wheel family! You’ll be collecting crucial data that helps Waterfront Partnership’s Healthy Harbor Initiative understand our city’s waste and support a Maryland Bottle Bill.
American Indian Pow-Wow, Saturday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Maryland State Fairgrounds. The Baltimore American Indian Center will hold their 48th annual Pow-Wow, featuring Native vendors, Native food, dancing, cash prizes, and more.
Dancing Bears: Grateful Dead Tribute, Saturday, Nov. 16, doors open at 7 p.m., Recher Theatre. Jam out to your favorite Grateful Dead tunes with Baltimore’s own Dancing Bears: Grateful Dead Tribute. All ages are welcome.
The Waldorf Fair, Sunday, Nov. 17, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, Waldorf School of Baltimore. The 36th Annual Waldorf Fair promises a magical family experience, featuring “unplugged” family activities like jump-rope making, beeswax dipping, candle rolling, games, marionette shows, and live music.
Corradetti Glass Studio’s Pumpkin Mini-Workshop, Sunday, Nov. 17, 12 p.m., Corradetti Glassblowing Studio & Gallery. Learn how to blow glass at this mini-workshop where you’ll blow through the pipe into a blob of molten glass to create your one-of-a-kind pumpkin decoration with the help of expert glass artists! Baltimore Youth Symphony Orchestra, Sunday, Nov. 17, 5 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The talented young musicians of the Baltimore Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform in a concert also featuring the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Symphony In The City, Wednesday, Nov. 20, 7 p.m., Baltimore War Memorial. Come out to the War Memorial (located at 101 N. Gay St.) for a free concert as part of the Symphony In The City series.
Lunch With Sonia, Thursday, Nov. 21 – Sunday, Nov. 24, Theatre Project. A show inspired by writer’s true-life experience with his Aunt Sonia, who ended her life with dignity after a long illness at the age of 72. Puppets, live actors, music, video, and physical theater all deal with and demonstrate the themes of live, love, and loss. Click link for show times. Tickets are $15 – $25.
Sesame Street Live, Friday, Nov. 22, 6 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. Don’t know how to get to Sesame Street? Fear not; your favorite Sesame Street characters are coming to you. Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and other friends will visit Baltimore during the “Sesame Street Live!” show.
The Magic of Merryland, Saturday, Nov. 23, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Harbor East. Join Harbor East for a new holiday tradition. The Magic of Merryland celebration begins Nov. 23 with live music, holiday treats, and festive fun for the entire family.
BMA Ball Afterparty, Saturday, Nov. 23, 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. The Baltimore Museum of Art. Celebrate the BMA’s 110th Anniversary with dessert, light bites and dancing with music by DJ Tanz. The ball, which includes a sit-down dinner in the galleries, is sold out but tickets to the afterparty are still available.
