Former Maryland governor and current presidential wannabe Martin O’Malley takes a whole lot of selfies.
Okay, to be honest, there’s plenty more about O’Malley’s presidential campaign in this article from the National Journal, including his wooing of Iowa members of Congress and his attempts to position himself as the anti-Hillary. But the story also details O’Malley’s penchant for snapping casual (or faux-casual photos) with everyone from Julia Louis-Dreyfus to Wendy Davis to randos along the campaign trail. “Martin O’Malley is running for president one blurry Facebook photo after another,” Shane Goldmacher writes.
What do O’Malley’s selfies tell us about him as a man? Perhaps that he’s vain, or that he’s trying to underline how much younger he is than other viable Democratic candidates, or that he’s approachable, or that he wants to seem approachable. Or maybe it’s just that he’s photogenic and he knows it.
