More than 200 breweries, retail stores, and manufacturing locations across Maryland this week received a total of $14.5 million to revitalize vacant retail and commercial spaces.
It is the second round of funding from Project Restore, a $25 million economic recovery initiative.
Popular Baltimore spots such as Ebiken, Red Emmaโs, and the Local Oyster received grants this round.
Project Restore has been one of the stateโs most successful recovery initiatives, Governor Hogan said in a statement on Tuesday.
The project offers rental and business operations grants to help incentivize businesses to invest in vacant spaces.
This round, 209 businesses will receive $5.2 million in rental subsidies and $9.3 million in business operation grants over the next two years.
The awards are administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).
โThrough Project Restore, we have made significant progress to keep businesses operating and growing in every corner of the state,โ said Secretary Kenneth C. Holt in a statement.
โOur department will continue to help businesses supercharge Marylandโs economy,โ he said.

I hqve a small business and would like to know where I sign up for this grant. I would like to move my home base business to a brick and mortar.
Thank you

We have a vacant building that we would like to redevelop and revitalize the area. I would like to know as well where can we sign up to receive the grant if possible. Thank you.
