Teslas aren’t as established as colleges and universities, but U.S. News and World Report sees the electric cars as viable enough to creating a ranking.
The publication crunched the numbers on the best states to own a Tesla, and Maryland is among the top of class. The state could use some more supercharging stations, with the list noting that there are only three available. But it makes up for it with more than 400 other electric car charging locations.
Open car pool lanes and a $3,000 tax credit for Marylanders who buy electric cars. It can’t hurt that the state also made it legal to sell Teslas here last year. The General Assembly passed a law allowing the company’s Model S to be sold in showrooms.
