
The seven-day average rate of coronavirus tests that have come back positive in Maryland has remained above 7% for 21 days.
An average of 7.72% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 8.34% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 7.38% for Marylanders older than 35.
At least 253,073 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 2,420,417 have tested negative as of Monday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s coronavirus caseload rose by 2,265, an increase of 0.9%.
The state has completed 5,324,491 coronavirus tests to date, with 40,320 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
Currently, 1,676 Marylanders are hospitalized with coronavirus, including 1,277 who are in acute care and 399 who are in intensive care.
The number of acute care patients rose by 21 while the number of intensive care patients declined by seven, marking a net increase of 14 people hospitalized with coronavirus compared to Sunday.
Maryland has hospitalized a total of 24,758 people due to COVID-19 to date.
The state reported 23 additional deaths on Monday, raising the state’s total number of fatal cases to 5,302. There are also 169 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
As of 10 a.m. Monday, there have been 50,643 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 42,171 in Montgomery County; 36,058 in Baltimore County; 29,578 in Baltimore City; 21,924 in Anne Arundel County; 10,284 in Howard County; 9,763 in Frederick County; 7,826 in Harford County; 6,799 in Washington County; 5,535 in Charles County; 5,071 in Allegany County; 4,641 in Carroll County; 4,233 in Wicomico County; 3,193 in Cecil County; 2,946 in St. Mary’s County; 2,015 in Calvert County; 1,880 in Worcester County; 1,579 in Somerset County; 1,462 in Queen Anne’s County; 1,312 in Garrett County; 1,266 in Dorchester County; 1,218 in Caroline County; 1,030 in Talbot County; and 646 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 11,276 are people age 9 or younger; 22,817 are people ages 10-19; 47,202 are people ages 20-29; 44,775 are people ages 30-39; 39,373 are people ages 40-49; 37,742 are people ages 50-59; 25,160 are people ages 60-69; 14,525 are people ages 70-79; and 10,203 are people age 80 or older.
The state has identified 133,106 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 119,967 as male.
Of Maryland’s confirmed cases, 74,271 are Black, 45,036 are Hispanic, 80,358 are white, 5,153 are Asian, 11,586 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 36,669.
Nationwide, there have been at least 17,850,936 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 317,686 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 230.1 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Monday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
