The number of Marylanders currently hospitalized with COVID-19 jumped to 1,165 on Monday, the most since the state recorded 1,166 on Feb. 14.

Maryland’s coronavirus-related hospitalizations have been on the rise since mid-March. Before that, the metric had been declining since mid-January.

Of those currently hospitalized, 905 are in acute care and 260 are in intensive care.

Maryland’s coronavirus-related hospitalizations increased by 34 patients compared to Sunday, with 30 more patients in acute care and four more patients in intensive care.

The state has hospitalized a total of 38,425 people with coronavirus over the past 12 months.

At least 418,188 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,197,017 have tested negative as of Monday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.

Maryland’s coronavirus caseload rose by 859, an increase of about 0.21%.

State officials on Monday confirmed 12 more deaths related to coronavirus, raising Maryland’s total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 8,177.

Maryland has completed 8,920,479 coronavirus tests to date, with 17,080 test results reported in the past 24 hours.

Over the last seven days, an average of 5.79% of the state’s COVID-19 tests have come back positive.

The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 6.06% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 5.58% for Marylanders older than 35.

A total of 1,123,257 Marylanders have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, state data showed on Monday.

Of the two-dose vaccines, Maryland has administered a total of 1,870,570 first doses and 1,030,116 second doses.

In the past 24 hours, providers have administered 12,586 first doses and 9,261 second doses.

Maryland providers have also administered single-dose vaccines to a total of 93,141 people, including 1,066 doses that were administered in the past 24 hours.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, there have been 78,948 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 67,303 in Montgomery County; 57,222 in Baltimore County; 45,825 in Baltimore City; 39,578 in Anne Arundel County; 18,425 in Frederick County; 17,605 in Howard County; 14,490 in Harford County; 13,425 in Washington County; 9,895 in Charles County; 8,439 in Carroll County; 7,144 in Wicomico County; 6,559 in Allegany County; 5,485 in St. Mary’s County; 5,463 in Cecil County; 3,951 in Calvert County; 3,424 in Worcester County; 2,739 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,500 in Dorchester County; 2,484 in Somerset County; 2,151 in Caroline County; 1,975 in Talbot County; 1,914 in Garrett County; and 1,244 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.

Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 124,176 are Black, 9,905 are Asian, 146,789 are white, 65,166 are Hispanic, 19,667 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 52,485.

Maryland has identified 218,461 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 199,727 as male.

Of the state’s confirmed cases, 21,783 are people age 9 or younger; 41,278 are people ages 10-19; 76,590 are people ages 20-29; 71,622 are people ages 30-39; 62,897 are people ages 40-49; 62,859 are people ages 50-59; 42,305 are people ages 60-69; 23,608 are people ages 70-79; and 15,246 are people age 80 or older.

Nationwide, there have been at least 30,706,676 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 555,002 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 398.2 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Monday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
