In day two of Officer Caesar Goodson’s trial for second-degree murder in the death of Freddie Gray, the medical examiner who conducted Gray’s autopsy doubled down on her “homicide” finding.
According to ABC News, Goodson’s attorney said in court that Dr. Carol Allan had initially termed Gray’s death a “freakish accident.”
Allan flatly denied it. “The word accident never crossed my lips,” she reportedly said.
She testified that she had never felt Gray’s death was accidental.
Prosecutors are arguing that Goodson, who drove the transport van in which Gray suffered a severed spine, had deliberately given him a “rough ride.”
