
During basketball games, Arizona State University’s Curtain of Distraction is well-known for its ability to make opponents’ eyes wander as they are shooting a second-half free throw. This week, Michael Phelps gave the hijinks the gold standard.
Complete with Speedo, swim cap and medals (and muscles), Phelps jumped out from behind the curtain with two other bowtie-clad Sun Devils to get in an Oregon State University player’s head. The Olympic legend brought his tradition of excellence to this endeavor, as the player missed both free throws. Even ASU coach Bobby Hurley said he was a help.
The Baltimore native is in Arizona State to train for his run at more medals this summer in Rio with longtime coach Bob Bowman. Here’s the video:
