MOM’s Organic Market plans to open a new location near Towson.
The grocer has signed a lease for an approximately 14,690-square-foot space at a former Rite Aid in the Gittings Marketplace shopping center at 6300 York Road.
The market expects to start welcoming customers in spring 2027. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
“We’re excited to continue expanding our presence in the greater Baltimore area and bring our unique approach to organic grocery shopping to even more residents,” said Scott Nash, founder and CEO of MOM’s Organic Market. “Our goal has always been bigger than selling groceries. We want to make it easier for people to make choices that are better for their families, their communities, and the environment.”
The shopping center is located just south of the Baltimore City-Baltimore County line in the Cedarcroft community.
The new MOM’s store will join other businesses already at Gittings Marketplace, including Five Guys, Qdoba Mexican Grill, MyEyeDr, Jersey Mike’s, and Vito’s Pizza.
“We are thrilled to welcome MOM’s Organic Market to Gittings Marketplace,” said Mark Renbaum, CEO of Schwaber Holdings, which owns Gittings Marketplace. “A quality grocer is the heartbeat of any neighborhood shopping center, and MOM’s will give residents a convenient place to shop every day and continue to bring a sense of community to the surrounding community.”
MOM’s currently has stores in Maryland; Virginia; Washington, D.C.; Pennsylvania; New York; New Jersey; Massachusetts; and Illinois. The company has 12 locations throughout Maryland.
Just up York Road, north of the city-county line, Trader Joe’s is preparing to open a grocery store in the Anneslie community, where it will replace a former Party City store. That Trader Joe’s branch is currently under construction and is located across the street from another shopping center, which contains a Giant Food grocery store.
Earlier this year, MOM’s Organic Market was the subject of scrutiny after the company prohibited employees from wearing face masks unless they provide a note from a doctor. Following public backlash, the company issued a “clarification” of its policy.
