The trials for officers accused in Freddie Grayโs death are set to resume in May. Following last weekโs decision by the Court of Appeals that would have Officer William Porter testify at the trials of the other officers, a judge set out a new schedule on Wednesday.
The order has been scrambled from the initial schedule. Officer Edward Nero is now going first, instead of van driver Caesar Goodson. Sgt. Alicia White, who was initially slated to go after Goodson, wonโt see a courtroom until October. Porterโs retrial is in the middle.
Here is the schedule:
May 10: Edward Nero
June 6: Caesar Goodson
July 5: Brian Rice
July 27: Garrett Miller
Sept. 6: William Porter
Oct. 13: Alicia White

November to February would have greatly reduced the riot potential. Rioters don’t like the cold. Ever drive North Ave on a cold February day, compared to a hot July day? Judge: “Duh, Let’s hold controversial trials when the weather is hot and maximize the street reaction, let’s keep tourists and conventioneers away with fears of a riot.”
