Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is bringing world-famous Nik Wallenda tomorrow May 9 to Baltimore’s Light Street Pavilion in the Inner Harbor for an unbelievable feat as part of the company’s official announcement for its new complex. Wallenda will walk a high wire from the new Ripley’s Odditorium out over the water to a platform moored in the harbor. Wallenda will cover nearly 300 feet, all on a wire and all without a net or any safety device. Nik’s walk will start promptly at 5:15 p.m.
Nik Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of the legendary Wallenda family, famous for its high wire acts. His great-grandfather Karl Wallenda wire-walked over the Baltimore harbor in 1973. Nik’s Baltimore walk will be a build-up to his history-making walk across Niagara Falls in June. He will leave Baltimore directly for Niagara Falls, where he will begin extensive training.
The event is free and open to the public.
