A flight from BWI is going to be able to get you directly to San Diego, by way of Alaska.

Alaska Airlines is set to implement new direct service from BWI to San Diego next year. The nonstop flights to and from San Diego are set to start on March 15, 2017, and will depart daily.

For Alaska Airlines, the move represents an expansion on the East Coast. It’s part of a bigger push in the lower 48 for the airline, which moved into BWI in 2014.

“Our San Diego customers will soon enjoy nonstop flights to this historic seaport city, as well as easy access to the nation’s capital nearby,” said John Kirby, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of capacity planning.

It sounds like a pretty nice ride, with Pacific Northwest inspired food and drink, free entertainment to download and leather seats.
