If Las Vegas’s motto is “What happens here, stays here” Ocean City’s could be something like “What happens here… well, nothing better happen here — this is a family place!”
After taking on profanity on the boardwalk, Ocean City is considering banning smoking on the beach. I can’t blame them. A beach full of cigarette butts is a major bummer. But Mayor Rick Meehan says the issue is a divisive one, despite people being “for the most part” in favor of a ban. Meehan said he wants “to be fair to everybody and allow areas for smokers.”
How about we set up vice gazebos along the beach.? You know, little designated spots where people can smoke and swear and eat trans fats and talk about their in-laws with impunity. Everybody wins.
