At about noon on Tuesday, June 12, a helicopter carrying President Barack Obama landed on the athletic fields behind the tennis courts at McDonogh School, according to the schoolโ€™s website.  The President was in town for a $1 million fund raiser at the Hyatt Regency downtown, but he first made a stop at a private fundraiser at the Greenspring Valley home of  Josh and Genine Fidler, near McDonoghโ€™s campus.

Two  Marine Corps officers saluted the President as he walked across the field to a waiting motorcade. One parent told me that the helicopter pilot was a McDonogh grad, Mike Meyer, Class of โ€™96.

The presidentโ€™s security detail was out in full force.

As President Obama drove away, he rolled down his window and waved at a group of children watching the scene nearby.
