Another day, another man who thinks Ray Rice deserves a second chance. I know–that’s a cynical response to the news that Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti is among the chorus of people who thinks that the former Ravens running back should be forgiven for knocking out his then-fiancee, now-wife in an elevator last year.
“I think enough people are coming around a year later and saying he deserves a second chance,” Bisciotti said on a satellite radio sports show, the Baltimore Sun reports. “We at the Ravens wholeheartedly agree. … I hope like hell he gets that opportunity.”
While many sports columnists and Ravens players agree with Bisciotti, there are still plenty of people who don’t think Rice deserves a second chance. When the men’s anti-domestic violence group A Call to Men trumpeted its support for Rice earlier this month, they received enough critical responses that they walked back their statement.
