Young and old (many still without power) turned out for the annual 4th of July Parade in Roland Park yesterday, a longstanding tradition in the leafy North Baltimore neighborhood. Before the parade, Roland Parkers read the preamble to the Declaration of Independence and sang the National Anthem. The parade traveled down Roland Avenue, ending at the Roland Park Presbyterian Church, and was led by a firetruck followed by a crowd of around 100 people with their patriotically-decorated bikes and wagons. A group carried an American flag to serve as a reminder of what we were celebrating. Popsicles were given out at the end to help participants cool off on a very hot 4th of July afternoon.
