The Orioles lost and a local sports talk radio caller from Baltimore broke into a rap, but that’s not the worst of what happened on air last night. In mid-rap, caller “Will from Baltimore” cut off his rhymes, and told The D.A. Show hosts that he was being robbed.
“D.A. I’m gonna have to call you back. I’m being robbed,” Will said.
After several moments of silence, host Damon Amendolara summons his instant analysis skills. He relays that Will was working at a 7-11 at 3:30 a.m. when he was robbed. The hosts then break down whether the robber was trying to steal Twix or Bugles, and how much cash might have been in the drawer.
Amendolara’s hot take: “Did that just happen?”
Even after making fun of the incident, the D.A. Show did take the time to follow up with Will.
“The good news is Will was okay,” said a statement posted to the show’s YouTube account. “We spoke to him again an hour later, and while he was dealing with paperwork, he was fine.”
