Kiss Me, Nasty Woman

Thursday, March 30, Baltimore’s own Chesapeake Shakespeare Company welcomes Mixolo to enjoy Taming of the Shrew. Meet up with other solo travelers to sip and nibble in this gorgeous historic bank – repurposed to resemble Shakespeare’s Globe – before settling in for the show. Whether you’re a Bard beginner or an avatar of Avon, you’re sure to enjoy attending this classic play with other like-minded adventurers.

The original screwball comedy, Shakespeare’s story of Petruchio’s “taming” of Kate has been the subject of debate among feminists and scholars. But the Shrew of the title – the nasty woman once played by Elizabeth Taylor on the silver screen – is a force to be reckoned with. At this exclusive event, Mixolo Early Adopters are invited to get together for light bites and a cash bar, before taking their seats in a prime location. We promise you’ll have something to talk about!

6:30 p.m., Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, 7 South Calvert St.

*Subjects/Actors: Ron Heneghan as Petruchio, Valerie Fenton as Kate.
