Small businesses and non-profits are especially hard hit during the coronavirus outbreak. We get it! Baltimore Fishbowl is a small business, too. To help small businesses and non-profits, we will provide regular updates to let you know how they are coping.

The following is an update from Ron Staines, the General Manager at Stone Mill Bakery on how they are adapting and coping during these times. Stone Mill has been serving the greater Baltimore metro region for more than 20 years and the bakery and café locations are well-known for quality, consistency, and customer service. Currently, Stone Mill has updated their hours to Monday – Saturday, 9am-6pm. Both Curb-Side Pickup and Carryout, as well as online ordering, are available. (no delivery just yet)

How have you altered your business to adapt to the quarantine?
We have established a Curb-Side pickup option that has allowed us to keep most of our full-time employees still employed. We are going to start “Family Dinners” next week available in 2-4 person portions.

Are you doing something for the community or your employees that you want to share with our readers?
We have been making a lot of bagged lunches for local hospitals and our local community members have been donating to help fund this. It is amazing how quickly our community has come together to support our essential employees!

What is the status of your employees?
Most of our employees are still working full time, a few working part time that were full time but we are doing our best to keep as many employed as possible! We had to unfortunately let a few people go due to lack of dine in business but anticipate bringing them back as soon as we can!

How can readers help you get through the crisis?
We appreciate any support! We have come together as a Community to raise money so that we can continue donations to local hospital workers! Just keep us in mind for your curb-side pickups for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

How are you coping, personally?
I personally am taking it day by day. We just don’t know what tomorrow will bring but we have to keep our heads high and hope for the best!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We love our community and all the support we have received from all over! We will get through this. It may not be tomorrow but it will be for certain.
