You know that friend of a friend who wears the clothes you wish you could pull off yourself, tells great jokes, has interesting stories, and on whom you have absolutely no romantic designs? That person is a friend crush.
On February 16, deep in the afterglow of Valentine’s Day, Posi-Party and the Wham City Comedy Tour are throwing a Friend Crush Ball at the Coward Shoe building to celebrate all things platonic. It’s a dance party (including a DJ set by BFB friend crush Jenn Wasner) hosted by Wham City artists Ben O’Brien and Alan Resnick. There’ll be a photo booth, trust falls, tarot readings, and a “high five machine,” whatever that is.
It’s the kind of party you could attend with your BFF , but you might consider asking that British ex-army brat skydiver with an asymmetrical haircut and vaguely exotic first name you’ve been seeing around.
The Friend Crush Ball begins at 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 16 at the Coward Shoe (322 Howard Street). Admission is $8.
