Eat-Drink-Go LOCAL Festival this Sunday

Maryland has so many fantastic local companies crafting beer, wine  – and now many companies are expanding into mead, cider and fruit wines. And no, not all of them are excessively fruity and sweet. I’ve tried a few of Millstone and Distillery Lane’s ciders and really liked them! Highly recommend giving them a taste….and this Sunday you can head to the 2nd Annual Eat-Drink-Go LOCAL Cider & Mead event at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture to do just that.

The event is sponsored by the Maryland Wineries Association and will include tastings by Linganore Winecellars, Layton’s Chance Vineyard and Winery, Millstone Cellars, Distillery Lane Ciderworks, Great Shoals Winery and Charm City Meadworks, a brand new company located in Baltimore City. A farmers market will also include Juan Guacamole, The Project Resource Group, Bees by the Bay and Caprikorn Farms (cheese), among others. Live music by Sac Au Lait and Tom Larson.

Eat-Drink-Go LOCAL is a free event but attendees may choose to purchase a tasting pass for $25.00 that includes a stemless wine glass and samples. Attendees may tour the grounds, browse produce from local farmers and enjoy the sights and sounds of the event. For more information, log onto www.marylandwine.com or call 410-252-WINE.

“As we continue to celebrate Maryland Wine Week, we are excited to feature some of the specialty products made in our state such as ciders, meads and fruit wines. There is such a variety from which to choose so there really is something for everyone,” said Kevin Atticks, Executive Director for Maryland Wineries Association.

Eat-Drink-Go LOCAL is Sunday, July 20 from 12:00-6:00pm.
