The Mid-Atlantic Just Survived Every Type of Weather

The National Weather Service’s March 12 forecast for the Baltimore-Washington region was so absurdly comprehensive, it actually went viral. Here’s a choice excerpt:

WE SOMETIMES SAY THE FORECAST HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. I THINK WE CAN TAKE THAT LITERALLY AT THE MOMENT . . . AS THIS FORECAST HAS ALMOST EVERY POSSIBLE WEATHER TYPE/HAZARD . . . IN THE FIRST 36 HOURS. STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS . . . SNOW . . . WIND CHILLS. . . STRONG WINDS . . . UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPS . . . UNSEASONABLY COLD TEMPS . . . POTENTIAL FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS . . . MINOR COASTAL FLOOD POTENTIAL . . . THERE IS NOT MUCH LEFT

That’s right, “almost every possible weather type,” even ones that absolutely contradict each other. (“Unseasonably warm” and “unseasonably cold” in one region on one day?!)

I guess sometimes March is in like a lion, and then that lion fights 10 other lions to see who gets to devour the lamb.
