Ladew Gardens Announces Line-up for Annual Groovin’ in the Grass Summer Concert Series June 18 – August 6, 2017
Ladew Topiary Gardens is pleased to announce the 2017 Groovin’ in the Grass Summer Concert series, which includes 8 family-friendly concerts beginning on June 18th and continuing through August 6th.
Peace, love, and music. That was Woodstock, 1969. And in the song that she wrote to memorialize the event, Joni Mitchell declared that “we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.” So true. We do need a little peace, love and music. And we do need to get ourselves back to the garden—and how about if it’s one that’s internationally recognized as a “living masterpiece,” and that’s right around the corner? It may be a far cry from the muddy bacchanal that was the 3-day Woodstock festival, but Ladew’s summer concert series Groovin in the Grass delivers all the serenity, fresh air, and fantastic music you’d hope for in an outdoor music setting (plus, you get to go home at the end of the evening and sleep in your own bed, as opposed to in a pile of semi-clothed hippies). And of course, this is an outdoor concert you can bring the family to. The concerts begin on Sunday, June 9th and continue each Sunday evening through August 18th. The concerts are held from 6 to 8 p.m. (early enough for little ones to not get crabby), and the Ladew Gardens Great Bowl is a spectacular setting for taking in the variety of music offered this season.
