This news is depressing, if you’re a grad student or know some grad students. And, odds are, you probably do — this deal comes at a time when more Americans than ever are going to grad school. The master’s is the nation’s fastest growing degree, with the number awarded more than doubling since the 1980s. According to the New York Times, 2 in 25 people over age 25 have a master’s — about the same proportion as had a bachelor’s in 1960.
