Meet Iris and Jackie, both available for adoption at the Baltimore Humane Society.
Please say hello to…
Bear, 2 years old, 57 lbs., neutered male, Hound/Rottweiler
Hi hi hi! I’m a fun, energetic, and friendly fella looking for new home before the holidays. I should probably attend obedience training since I’m kinda goofy at the moment. So if you need an active companion to bring a little excitement to your home, come visit me at the Maryland SPCA adoption center today.
Also, some good news: Last weekend, our 500th pet was adopted from Project Adopt at White Marsh Mall. Project Adopt is the Maryland SPCA’s satellite adoption center. In addition to this milestone, we’re coming up on our one-year-anniversary since Project Adopt opened.
To celebrate this milestone and to celebrate our up-coming one-year-anniversary, we are honoring adopters with a special reception on Saturday, November 22nd.
The 1st adopters and their cat Lucy will be attending and will be presented a new collar with a Pet ID tag that says “I was the 1st adoption at Project Adopt.” The 500th adopters and their kitten, Jaimie Lynn, will be attending and will be presented with a new collar that says “I was the 500th adoption at Project Adopt.”
All other adopters from Project Adopt have been invited to attend (without pets) and will be thanked during ceremony. Refreshments will be served immediately following.
To continue to celebrate these two milestones, the MD SPCA will be waiving adoption fees for cats and reducing adoption fees for kittens at Project Adopt on Friday, November 21, Saturday, November 22, and Sunday November 23.
When: Saturday, November 22 at 10 a.m.
Where: White Marsh Mall, Upper Level next to JC Penney. (8200 Perry Hall Blvd. Nottingham, MD)
Hello there! I’m Bru, a big handsome boy looking for that special someone. I enjoy brisk strolls in the sun, rolling in the grass, and playing a game of tug or fetch. I also like belly rubs, booty scratches, and snuggling on the sofa. I’m a pretty smart guy…did I mention I can sit, lay down, and give BOTH paws? I’d love to learn some new things too!! Now I’ll be honest, sometimes I get excited and forget my manners, but I’m a really good listener… especially when treats are involved. I’m looking for someone to be patient (it is a virtue, after all) and understanding; someone who is interested in a committed relationship. I’m looking for my forever home. Could it be with you? I’m a staff favorite…stop by for a visit and see why!!
Hey everyone my name is Josie and I have been told that I am the best cuddle bug who loves to have her belly rubbed! I really enjoy the company of people, and enjoy playing
fetch and chasing after tennis balls. I know several commands such as sit, down and roll over! Food is a big motivator for me — I’m sure I would learn even more commands and tricks if food was involved!! If you are interested in meeting me come on out to BHS!
Hey there, I’m Carol and very happy to meet you. I’m your typical border collie who is full of life and energy! I am a very happy and loving girl who would make a great companion for someone.
I love people and would really enjoy running around and playing with my new family. I love to give people hugs, so if you need a hug from a wonderful dog today then come visit me! I’ll be waiting.
Say hello to…
Max, 3 years old, neutered male, 99 lbs, Labrador Retriever
Hi hi hi! I’m the perfect dog for anyone who’s looking for a large, gentle, and handsome fella. I totally know my basic commands like “SIT” and “STAY”, but my friends at the MDSPCA say Obedience Training is fun so please consider taking to class. Please visit me at the MDSPCA adoption center and let’s go home together today.

It’s our biggest, most important fundraiser of the year. Register at www.marchfortheanimals.org.
No national organization supports our operations, and we receive no government funds. We depend upon local donations to make a difference in the lives of animals.
There could be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow at Baltimore Humane Society this weekend. The adoptable dogs, cats, and adopting humans could all be winners! The no-kill shelter in Reisterstown is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a Luck O’ the Irish Special. Anyone applying to adopt a dog or cat can try their luck by picking a coin from a Pot of Gold. The coin they pick could be for anywhere from a 25% to 100% discounted adoption fee. So the lucky adopters will go home with change in their pockets and a new best friend for life. The promotion runs all weekend from March 15th to March 16th. The Adoption Center is open to the public from noon until 6p.m. For more information or to see all the companion pets available for adoption go tobmorehumane.org.
