Itโ€™s the busiest travel week of the year, and BWIโ€™s terminal started things off with a power outage on Monday morning.

The morning started off free and clear at Baltimore-Washington International/Thurgood Marshall Airport. Around 8:50 a.m., TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein was even reporting short lines.

Two hours later, the lights went out. The power outage was reported around 10:40 a.m.  Ten minutes later, airport officials announced that security checkpoints A, B and C were closed.

After aโ€modifiedโ€ (read: manual) screening process was implemented during the morning, power was restored just before 9 a.m. But delays are likely to continue into the afternoon.

Flight delays, however, are expected to continue into the afternoon. Hopefully this means theyโ€™re getting the snafus out of their system today, before the heavy crowds start on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Check with BWIโ€™s website for flight info.
