Goats eat greenery at Wyman Park Dell.

The goats are coming back to Wyman Park Dell.

The Friends of Wyman Park Dell announced that another “Goats on the Slope” weekend will be held Sept. 19 to 22.

This is the fourth year for the popular event, in which the non-profit organization brings in hungry goats from Prosperity Acres in Sunderland, Maryland, to devour overgrown vegetation that covers the steep hillside at the north end of Wyman Park Dell, across Art Museum Drive from the Baltimore Museum of Art.

“Our goat guests will graze the ‘BMA slope’ as part of a short-term plan for managing vegetation and maintaining sight-lines in the park,” the group says on its website. “The goats will be managed and installed by our partners at Prosperity Acres and will arrive in the park on Friday, Septemmber19. They will be in the park all weekend.”

To accompany the goats and their fans, there will be a free “Music in the Dell’ program on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 5 p.m.

“Join us for games, refreshments and a live performance by Nelly’s Echo while the goats graze nearby,” organizers say. “Bring your chairs and picnics for a lovely afternoon in the Wyman Park Dell.”

The goat grazing project “has been incredibly successful thanks to the generous support of our neighbors and the City of Baltimore,” the volunteer group said in its message. “Please consider making a donation to help us bring the goats back on an annual basis.”
