Who doesn’t love a scavenger hunt? This June, Baltimoreans can embark upon a month-long scavenger hunt celebrating Baltimore Main Street’s 25th anniversary with “The Great Chase” — a citywide adventure that supports small businesses and communities, at no cost for registration!

Throughout the month, participants can register for “The Great Chase” and set off to discover (or re-discover) the unique character of Baltimore’s nine Main Streets: Highlandtown, Fells Point, Federal Hill, Pigtown, Pennsylvania Ave., Waverly, Belair-Edison, Hamilton-Lauraville, and Park Heights. At each designated landmark, participants scan a QR code and upload a selfie at the location. Each photo counts as an entry for the Grand Prize, which is a Baltimore Main Streets Staycation.

Some of the landmarks to visit on “The Great Chase” include the Cross Street Market, Shareef’s Grill, the Billie Holiday Statue, and the Park Heights Barber Shop.

The Grand Prize includes a two-day, one-night stay at the Sagamore Pendry Hotel, complete with fun experiences showcasing the best of Baltimore:

  • A Fells Point coffee experience
  • A dinner in a different Main Street district (selection provided to the winner)
  • An entertainment experience in yet another Main Street district
  • A Baltimore Main Streets gift basket, featuring gifts from businesses across the corridors
  • A $100 Lyft gift card, covering rides for the dinner and entertainment experiences
  • A $100 gift card to “shop small” in the Main Streets

If participants attend the Small Business Advancement Conference on June 12, they have the chance to earn double points, which boosts their entries and odds of winning.

“Baltimore Main Streets has been the heartbeat of the city’s small business communities for 25 years, fostering economic growth and celebrating local entrepreneurs,” said Charlyn Nater, director of Baltimore Main Streets. “Our Program uplifts local businesses, provides them with developmental resources, and spotlights neighborhoods throughout the City. The Great Chase invites everyone to join this special anniversary—exploring, celebrating, and supporting the businesses that make Baltimore unique.”

Baltimore Main Streets will also host Pop-Up Social Hours throughout the city, beginning May 28th at 2 p.m. in Waverly, at 3100-C Greenmount Ave. The Social Hours will continue across the Main Streets throughout June. For registration details and updates about these events, follow their account on Instagram.

The Baltimore Main Streets program is part of the Mayor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy & Development. The office’s mission is to help revitalize neighborhoods with customized support and public resources that will help them attract new businesses and jobs.
